Otagi Nenbutsuji was one of my favorites. It’s small but very quiet (at least at 10 AM in the rain), the statues are really cute and fun, and there are some big bells you can ring. If you take a cab or bus all the way up the hill from Saga Arashiyama station, it makes it easy to walk down to the bigger, famouser temples.
